what are the effects of snorting my prescriptions drugs instead of taking them by mouth.

What are the effects of snorting my prescription drugs over having to take them by mouth.  When I take them by mouth I feel like a zombie and am always falling asleep.  When I snort them I find they don't effect me the same way as by mouth because I am splitting them up during the whole day and night.  Does it damage your lungs when you do this?  Since I have to take these pills for chronic pain I just hate feeling so out of it all the time when I take them by mouth.  They still take the edge off my pain, but I am not as adversly affected by snorting them.

Snorting introduces the drugs to your body faster and spikes serum levels - - this allows for them to also leave faster creating peaks and valleys in what should be a consistent serum dose......youd have to ihale a lot to damage your lungs.........nore nose is a different story..mich mire micro veslls there and thin line between cartilage and skin...as soon as you damage skin via tiny cappilaries/mucosa  you will be able to trash the cartilage that doesnt heal......and leaves a hole interior nose........

Honestly?

That is simply junkie behavior, and it will do you no good.  First of all....snorting will give you more than just what the medication is supposed to do...meaning you're seeking a feeling above and beyond what the medication is supposed to do.  Would you snort Tylenol?  Or Tums?  You have to be honest with yourself.

Secondly...there can be long term effects of snorting medications...including damage to the septum and lining of the nose.

Not something you want to start.
