advice please

I'm very confused.  My husband says he takes drugs to stay awake and it allows him to get things done.  On the other hand he says the reason he keeps nodding off is because he is cutting back on the amount he takes.  Which should I believe?

I agree with 907baby...if you take too many it can make you very tired where you doze off anywhere any time...when you take the "right" amount you get energy...just my experience!

what does he take?  I know Fentanyl for me woke me up  BUT taking too much made me do the same thing. Is there a possibility he's taking more instead of cutting back. Im not trying to acuse him of anything, I just know that I used that same lie to my mom.  I'd say I was in withdrawals and had fatigue, when really I was just getting highER. maybe the same case? but whats his drug of choice, just curious?

Our daughter blew up at him the other night, the result being he agreed to stop smoking in bed, he said that he can't talk to me because I turn everything around so it's like I think of no one but me...as he says "poor me"  meaning my problem is more important than his.  I am totally confused.

I guess it would also depend on what his drug of choice is as well. Sounds like he might need an intervention for his safety and that of your family.

he falls asleep standing up, eating, smoking (more burns in the furniture), while visiting with others...

I know for me the opiates would definately wake me up! I could clean like noone when I took stuff. If you react to them that way when you start cutting back you have no energy. Everyone is different but that is what I have experienced. Does he want to quit?
