day 12 and superbowl sunday....

Just checkin in with everyone 12th day no vikes, and i have to say this is sooo not easy, im trying to stay positive and keep my mind and body busy to distract myself. I really didnt have cravings in the beginning of this process but as the days go by my mind is playing tricks on me, do u reallly wanna live everyday with throbbing back pain and no energy? The pills make everything soooo much easier to handle! I write these little voices off as the devil! wish me luck im still fighting a good fight. Much love and respect. Kim

Congrats on 12 days thats great!!!!!!!!  Do you have any after care in place, like attending meetings? Like some have told you above, the mental part is rougher then the physical part.I suffer from back pain also and in the beginning it was rough, but it gets easier.I'm amazed that motrin really does work.LOL You did a good thing by posting about how you feel.Stay busy and stay strong.YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!!

Gizzy......better listen to sara .You don't want her fueling up that umbrella and bringing you her cold......Stay strong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow day 12.. congratulations.. the energy will return.. that is the opiates way of trying to lure you back.. her last physical symptom.. important to stay away from triggers today. Big events can cause big cravings.. be aware it is only a trick.. You are stronger.. try not to expose yourself to too many triggers today.. The back will ease up with time.. I wish you a good day with many clean days to come.. lesa

Congrats on the 12 days!!!  That is a great accomplishment.  The mental part is the hardest but it just your mind playing tricks on you.  Try and get busy, turn up the music, take a warm bath or shower and keep posting here.  It will get better with time.  Stay positive!!!!!  The energy will come back.....it takes awhile but we have abused our bodies so it needs time to heal.

Gizzy..........stay away from the drink........i am sending you my cold!!!!  Crack a can of pop, put it on ice and enjoy that drink.

First of all way to go on 12 days and now that w/d's are pretty much done, it's the mental battle. Last superbowl i was just clean and was scared to go out, i ended up seeing coke anyway and it ruined my night, this year it's so much different. Remember you are so early in recovery and the mind games are peaking right now. The energy seems to be one of the last things to come so don't give in. Today will be a test for many of us with the superbowl, for some reason i feel like getting wasted, but i choose not too because i dont want to crave coke , maybe just a few drinks, lol. Best of luck and keep fighting, you can't go back now.
