The depression is completely normal. I'm very close to eight days free and I've been battling depression and anxiety. The good news is it does get better. As I'm sure you know we have to remember we tricked our bodies for so long that everything was wonderful. Basically we were constantly flooding our bodies with happy juice. Now our bodies are trying to readjust. It can be hard I'm finding a lot of it is psychological too. Try your best to fight back and be happy.
Try getting out in the sun and going for a walk. Get done up and go out. Try to get up and moving and out of the house. Also force yourself to only focus on the positive not the negative. I'm 2 weeks out and these are some things that have helped me. Good luck and hang in there.
My doctors told me they would not evaluate someone coming off of narcotics for depression for at least three months after they are clean. Because your brain chemistry is altered from the drugs for a LEAST 90 days. Coming off narcotics CAUSES depression and those effects linger for a while. So I would just say try to stick it out for 90 days using exercise and stuff then talk to a doctor if you are still really depressed.
