Back to square one

Hi everyone. So a couple weeks ago I thought I was done with the hydros. I went 4 days without, and then on the fifth day I called my doctor and got 20 more. Of course now that they are gone, I get to put myself through this misery once again. I am so upset that I did this. I would have been like three weeks clean had I continued doing what I was doing. Now I have to start again...this is day 4 free of pills. I think I am sick which isn't helping. Feel soooo achy, low grade fever and nasty head cold. Taking so much advil with no relief. Could this be part of the withdrawals even though I am at day 4?

Some people say each day it gets better and better. I really want to start feeling like that soon. I hate how I have let this take over my life. The pills are like a best friend that I have to get rid of while learning to do everything in life without them again. I haven't even been taking a large dose 1-2 vic es/day....but still this is so hard.

Has this happened to anyone else? I had such great support on here and then boom- I found myself back at the doc office with more pills. I let myself down..ugh.

It does get better, but day 4 is usually one of the worst. Your not on a very high dose though, so i imagine a lot of this is mental. If they are so easily available then you need to fix that if you want to stay off them. Stick with this and keep getting support cause this could very easily turn to using a much higher dose, that happens to almost all of us. Don't beat yourself up, but learn from this mistake. Stay strong!

Thanks Gizzy I just saw that today is a special day for you- CONGRATS! You have much to be proud of...you must feel so good?! I hope that in 5 months I can say the same :-)

You are so right in that a lot of this is mental. I can say that it's probably a 20% physical and 80% physical battle for me.

I just made it to 31 day clean from hydro. The whole 1st wk was hell. I had a plan. I talked to my pharmacist (told them do not refill hydro EVER), changed drs. mine gave me whatever I wanted. I had a quit date planned and on that date I flushed my pills. I think back, and I never want to go thru wds again. I will never put another hydro in this body (unless I am dying, in horrible pain). I found this forum and it saved me! I found out what would help the wds and I did it. RLS and no sleep was the worst. I cried for the whole first week for no reason..I look back now and know that a lot of the mental stuff was the hardest part..just letting go of our little friends..Hang in there, hang around here.I could not have come this far without my friends here.
