withdrawal symptoms

can my gp prescribe something for my cocodamol addiction (withdral) like methadone or somethng to get through the pain and symtoms?

i have been to see my gp and he has sent me to a counciler next week so will c how it goes from there, dont really hold out much hope for myself at the moment, as ive been on them for 22 years,

Do not take methadone that has a very long half life and really has the longest withdrawal symptoms out of anything. Next to herion that is. Subs also have a 72 hour half life so also very long withs.

HI  most pcp cannot perscribe sub or methadone and I highly recamed you ether taper off or just jump going to methadone would be like going from the frying pain into the fire and sub isent much better the pills will be a lot ezer to get off in the long run ether way soner or later you will have to fase off with withdrawals and both sub and methadone withdrawals are a lot worst then the pills you onbest off to deal with it by tapering or just quiting and going threw 4 days of the flu.......Gnarly
