Like everyone has said that is why it so important to tell your doctor they will work out a plan that will take the most stress off you and the baby it will be ok. Just make sure you are 100 % honest with your doctor .
hey girlee well sorta is the best answer I can give you...I was reading your other post
about you being worried about delivering a baby that might be addicted....you need to tell
the hospital your situation ....im personal friends with a very caring neo/natal nurse that
brings babys off heroin methadone oxy ext...they administer methadone in really small
quantity and bring the baby's off slowly ...I personally used the formula to ween myself
off methadone ..I figured if it was safe for a baby it would be safe for me...it goes like this....10% drop in dose every 72hr and for the most part it worked great so it will be safe for your baby...you need to be totally honest with the hospital staff on how much your using ..they base your use on how much they give the baby to keep it from going into hard withdrawals so it will be vital your strait up with them...jenny has told me of mothers who tried to hide it and it only makes things alot more complicated
when the baby is in withdrawals rather then treating it b/4 hand she is a very caring person and said they dont judge the mother they only want whats best for the baby...I hope this puts your mind at eaze a bit...good luck and god bless ...Gnarly
I just posted on your other post lol
Anyway, I agree with Beta: Talk to your Dr. But weaning is better for the baby. They feel what you feel in some ways. After they're born they do go into withdrawal depending on the circumstances. Sounds like you're on the right track!! That's so great!! I know you're scared. Try and taper down until you see the Dr. and then come clean with him. You'll be so proud of yourself. I'm proud of you already!

This is probably something that is better discussed with your OBGYN. I would say that it is better for the baby to stop taking the narcos but I don't want to tell you to do something that I am not 100% sure of. I would say that you would definately be just fine to reduce the dose to only what is required to keep you from getting sick from w/d's until you can get in and discuss it with your OBGYN.
I wish you the best and hope someone else can chime in who has more experience in this area and can offer better advise on going cold turkey while pregnant. I am sure it will be stressfull on the baby but if that is ok then after 5 days or so the baby will be through all of the physical symptoms and will not really have to deal with processing the mental side of things that we adults have to deal with.
