Oxycodone withdraw while pregnant

I have been addicted to oxycodone for approx 1 year on and off, today I found out I am pregnant. We have determined I'm between 4-8 weeks along. I do not want to be on the drugs any longer and have no problem going through a few days of withdraw, so that I can have a healthy baby, but from what I have read, quitting cold turkey is bad, my question is, this early in the pregnancy is it ok to quit cold turkey? Please help me with what is best for my child. Thank you

If you are only taking a pill and a half you can just stop it colt turkey and don't worry about it. If you feel very bad, take one pill at night one day, then half a pill at night the following day, to make it easier.

Thank you so much. I'm only doing around 15-45mg a day now, which is a half to a pill and a half a day, so do you have a tapering schedule suggestion? I know within 2 dats I will get through the physically withdraw, and I wish so bad I could cold turkey it instead of prolonging the use, any advice is so much appreciated

There will be no problem with the baby if you do gentle tapering of your oxycodone. Do not quit cold turkey, just space out the oxys, until you take only at nights, then half at night, then none. Do it over a few weeks. You may have some withdrawals, but it will not affect the fetus negatively. Stay hydrated and eat healthy. Rest as much as you can and make sure that once you stop, you do not take any more. If you have any more question, please feel free to ask me again. Good luck to both of you.
