I'm on day 14 of my suboxone withdrawals, checked myself in a 5 day opiate/alcohol detox and lied about what I was addicted to just so I could be lockdown. It was hell because nothing helped. My question is what can i do to get energy and deal with these post acute withdrawal symptoms?? I'm eating like a horse but can't gain any weight! I take melatonin and it helps a little at night. Help me please!
Congratulation on your new motherhood! It is obviously important that you are feeling happy and healthy in this new task and able to function well and transfer that feeling to your child. Depression is a common occurrence in new mothers and treating it is imperative, that is why your doctor started you on Zoloft. Unfortunately that takes time to kick in (about 4 to 6 weeks) and one of its side effects is lack of libido (that happens almost right away) , which was one of your original complaints. Now, I must tel you that most of your symptoms can be explained by Suboxone, which is an opiate itself. Chronic use of any opiate will eventually lead to decreased lidido in both men and women, lack of energy and vitality. I would suggest that it may be time to think of tapering the Suboxone unless you meant to be on them for the rest of your life. I know that it will be one of the most difficult things you do, but we as mothers do a lot of hard things for our children, don't we?
When you are ready to do that you can come back and ask me for suggestion. We have helped many people in my clinic to detox from Suboxone as it is, ironically, one of the hardest drugs to get off of. If you have a minute, read a blog about Suboxone in My blogs by clicking my name in blue and then "blogs". Good luck to you.
