Immunosuppresed?

Hi,

Ive had addisons for like 12 years, and was never really told by endocrinologists that the steroids can cause immunosuppression. I've only learned this recently. Has anyone found that they have inaccurate bloods tests when testing for various diseases that require an antibody response? Has anyone found they have a weakened immune system?

My son takes 20mg a day broken us as 10mg on waking, 5mg at lunch and 5mg at tea time. We are noticing that on days when he is exerting himself he is becoming exhausted before the tea time dose so we may need to tweak things a little with that. But, he has not had a chest infection since February!!! For almost 18 months before it was almost constant!

My son has been on hydrocortisone for adrenal insufficiency for just over 6 months. We were informed about immunosuppression and that we had to inform anyone who took bloods from him about the steroids as it messes with some, not all, tests.

To be honest tho, my son has never been healthier than he is at the moment.
