Low adrenal

Can hydrocortisone cause the ovaries to swell and why?  I feel better on it with more energy, but am having a problem with the above, should I stop taking it?

You are taking a 10mg tablet and cutting it into quarters?

2.5mg is such a low dose - I frankly don't see it doing much. You should consult your doctor when you are able.

Hi thanks for your reply.  I am only taking 2.5mg a quarter of a tablet.  I have stopped and had gaps between taking it and the aching in the ovary has gone.  I should get my levels tested really, but cost is an issue at the moment and my GP won't do it.  I was taking it first thing in the morning and it seemed to help my energy levels, but now have stopped.  Am still feeling tired, but do not know what else to try?

How much hydro, and did you have a ultrasound to confirm the swelling?

Usually one takes just enough to replace what the body needs and side effects are from taking too much - and those side effects are Cushing's like effects and frankly, swelling ovaries are not one that I have heard. The abdomen in general getting better though, will happen if you are taking too much or at the wrong time(s).
