itch I can't scratch

For a few weeks now, I've noticed when I have an itch anywhere on my skin, I can't seem to get to it.  I scratch but it feels numb.  It's wierd...if I can't feel the scratching, why am I able to feel the itch in the first place???
Some other symptons I've had lately are really strange as well...ringing in the ears, "rubbery legs", racing thoughts.  I know many of my symptoms point to anxiety, but I want to know what I need to do to balance my body again.  I don't just want to take a valium, which is what my primary care physician prescribed.

Hi Christine,  I really hope this is nothing, but I had a friend that started out with dizziness, numbness, rubbery, sluggish legs and it was MS.  At least get tested.  Again, that may not be it at all--anxiety causes so much, but at least be tested,

go see an internal medicine doc, they are good a figuring out stuff.
also go to the health food store and if the stuff is knowlegable, there is usually a good book that people look through to see for recommendation of what to do.
BUT, HERE IS A BIG BUT
SOME OF THE STUFF THEY RECOMMEND YOU TAKE MAY NOT WORK FOR YOU AND YOU MIGHT BE ALERGIC TO IT AND SOME STUFF YOU CAN'T RETURN FOR CREDIT SO JUST ASK IF YOU CAN EXCHANGE/OR RETURN AND WHAT THEY RECOMMAND.

PS THEY USUALLY ALSO HAVE A LIST OF DOCTORS, SO CHECK IT OUT.
