I don't know the names of the tests. I came by AI by way of having my adrenals yanked out.
There will be a stimulation test - I had that as it is the same test for low cortisol for high cortisol.
When one hormone is off, others are off, and cortisol effects the thyroid hormone.
dear rumpled .thank you for taking the time out to answer my questions and post. you help was very beneficial to me.
I was just wondering if you know what blood test it is you need , to find out if you have auto-immune adrenal disease, as i have already graves disease, but am now told after having my second surgery, im hypo, and am having an hell off a time trying to get my levels back in range with levothyroxine,
I have chronic burning pains in my kidneys which i presume are my adrenals, and have dizzy spells, and diarrhoea, i have never felt as poorly in all my life.
I am very grateful for all your terrific help, and advice.
I wish you well . you are a great advocate for this forum
Thank you . nicola
Most docs would not recognize an adrenal gland if you took them out and dangled them on your ears.
That being said, looks like yours are a bit sluggish - but since you hit the range during the morning, the main *mainstream* testing time, and at night - when I usually advocate testing, but you tested pretty early for me - I like midnight.
I have no idea what stage 3 is though...
Stimulation testing, and other testing is needed to see what else is going on - perhaps you are just on the cusp - they are ok, but who knows how long. Also, what other hormones are not functioning. I know from experience that they find one that does not work and tend to stop, when I know now, when one is out of wack, it means likely others are too.
