son doesn't want to grow up

Our 13 year old son becomes very emotional when discussing growing up, etc.  He is adamant that he's "never going away to college", etc.  He teared up when we talked about donating some of his books from earlier childhood to a local school.  He has always been somewhat anxious, and this seems to be a real hot button for him....particularly at the moment.
