HELP!!!!!

Hello, I'm a relapsed alcoholic, and for the last month, have been drinking around a 12 pack of beer a day... When I first entered detox, back in 2003, I was drinking TWO cases a day.. I want to stop, I HATE it!! I dont want to go back to the Addictionologist for another tapering dose of Librium.. Since im nowhere near as bad as before, would clonazepam or xanax work for detox withdrawl help? Im prescribed both for anxiety, and have read that they both can prevent seizures and such.. HELP!!!!

when is the last time u drank?ur original post says u've been drinking for the last month not that u've been sober a month.i think u need to contact your doctor....ever tried Campral?in conjunction with AA,sober support system and no drinking i've seen it be quite effective.Now to educate yourself..google Campral and PAWS....Post Acute Withdrawal Syndrome!

Thanx for the info! :).. No, ive never done AA or any type of support group.. Back in '03, i had to go through detox, and once i got medical clearence, i left the facility.. I stayed sober for over 3 years before the one nighters started popping up.. they've never been an issue till this last month.. I'm not looking for the benzos as a crutch, im just trying to avoid withdrawls as much as possible.. I dont know if i'll have withdrawls, since ive only been drinking for about a month, and only a few days out of the month have i downed a 12 pack... The last time i went to detox, i had been drinking TWO cases a day for 2-3 YEARS... You think i'm in the clear from withdrawls since its only been a month or so? Thank you again for ur advice!!

if u had a period of sobriety then relapsed...u know how to stay sober....get back to doing it!Benzos alone will not help and just cause further crutch/withdrawal issues!did u go to AA?counseling?support group?
