hi. i'm no doctor, just a sober alcoholic, and the amount consumed doesn't matter as much as what happens when we drink. a drinking problem is drinking that continues despite negative consequences. some people have a combination of a physical allergy and a mental obsession when it comes to alcohol, that grow progressively worse and more unpredictable over time. despite what small benefits that moderate consumption may bring, any form of alcohol in any amount can have serious effects. those who drink a little more than 1 drink (1.5 oz. shot of liquor, 5oz. glass of wine or one 12oz beer) per day increase their risk of colon cancer by 15%, and those who drink about 4 drinks a day on average see a 40% increase. additionally there are genetic and neurological factors that will dictate how quickly a problem will develop. as far as potential problems in general, the cdc ranks alcohol consumption as the third-biggest cause of preventable death in the u.s. after smoking and obesity. if you think you have a problem, or just want to quit, there are solutions. please advise if i can be of further assistance. best wishes, gm
I think 2 regular sized bottles of beer in one weekend will not effect your health.... assuming you're not taking prescription drugs with an alcohol warning and you eat a normal/healthy diet.
