Drinking After a Seizure

I had a month where a partied like a frat boy and I don't usually.
At 45 years of age I decided I'd had enough and stopped cold-turkey.
Apparently that is a mistake and I had an alocoholic seizure and landed in the hospital.

My question is many fold:
1.  Does having a seizure leave you more susseptible to another one for life?
2.  Can taking a year off restore your cells and brain waves sufficiently to enjoy an occasional glass of wine or beer?
3.  Does anyone have experience with this or know of anyone.

I'll quit outright if another drink will kill me, but I have an $8000.00 wine collection I'd sure like to sample and experiment with food pairings.

I had seizures lots of times in my addiction and I tell you it helped me lose my motor skills , I had to learn how to read again I couldn't spell simple words.I thought nothing of it. I was lucky I made it through it with only those problems. Then my alcoholism just got worse and worse until I ended up on the street! Is 8000. 00  dollars worth your motor skills or better yet you'll have somebody wiping your A***.Seizures can lead to paralysis, look it up and you weigh the facts and figures. I would recommend you taking the AA questionnaire "Am I an Alcoholic". All the best to you,you are worth this journey called sobriety!.Sometimes it scary but you will find a new freedom!. I love sobriety .Take Care

Alcoholics cannot drink socially or in moderation......social drinkers and moderate drinkers don't end up in the hospital with seizures.

You talked about partying like a frat boy for a month.  The question is, were you drinking really regularly before that period? If so, how much, and for how long?   That has a lot to do with the rest of your question.

After a decent period of time off the sauce, (to physically recover) I think it is possible to enjoy moderate drinking (this is a personal opinon of mine, but many on this site may disagree).  The question is, can you handle it?  Will you go back to the "frat boy party" thing?   Many people are back to their old ways after a month of moderate consumption.  You have to be very careful of this stuff.

That being said, what is your history?
