My husband is falling off the wagon after8 years

It is the holiday season again.  So if he is going to drink,  It will be now.  He quit drinking on his own maybe 20 years ago..But every once in awhile he falls off the wagon.  When he starts drinking he is a true binge drinker,  meaning it is constant drinking, He will drink until he is so sick that he will end in in the hospital.  The last time he was bleeding and had to get blood. scaredme to death.  Well that was about 8 years ago.  Now I noticed him leering his words, and walking unsteady.  I asked him if he was drinking and he said no,  then I said I am going to call the dr.  because I think you are having a diabetic concern.  Because I heard they act like they are drunk. He said ok.  Well, I went and checked in the garbage can, and noticed 2  empty bottles of wine. I checked into the wine cellar and all the wine is gone, except the champagne..I just can't become a watch dog again...I feel like such a nag...He hasn't hit the hard stuff, but that is coming if he don't  stop now,  how can i help.. Oh and as far as when he drinks,  he is the best guy to be around...So If I have to be around a drunk, he would be the one,  but it is his health that I am concerned about..

Wine cellar and your hubby is an alcoholic??  That is a set up for failure.  Just the thought of that makes me shudder and i was a whiskey drinker.  Have you given any thought to Alanon?  I think you could use the help.  Enabling an alcoholic is not healthy for either party.

I've been sober and clean 31 years and NEVER would i have a basement full of wine and champagne!You're naturally concerned @ him....but it doesn't sound like he's concerned @ himself!:(
