New Strange side effects of alcohol...

I'm a healthy 27 year old male, im 5'10 210lbs, very fit and active but I've noticed that when I drink even 2 drinks, my HR raises as much as 20bpm above resting and I get flush and sweaty. I've had lab work and my liver enzymes are fine (normal range), and no heart problems, I exercise regularly but I was a heavy drinker in college but this never effected me til 4 months ago. I also rarely drink maybe once every 2 months or so and not to excess, I did a little research and initially thought ALDH deficiency but thats mainly in people of asian decent. any ideas??

Maybe the HR increased remembering the old college days.  Is 210 very fit for 5 10  ?

I dont think its "remembering days past" and yes 210 is fit,I find that mildly offensive A) I was concerned,B) I used to be very obese 276lbs and  im not a twig like most people that pass for guys today, im 7% body fat and do this crazy thing called lift weights a lot.But thanks for your concern

I can no longer tolerate alcohol at all. I had the same exact thing. My docotor did a glucose tolerance test (which is different than just a plain old fasting glucose) it's a 3 hour test, and found out that I am hypoglycemia.  Drinking for years on end can cause your body to overreact to sugar and spike your insulin and then drop your blood sugar. It always happens to me between 1 and 3 am. I've cut out all of the sugary stuff and alcohol, but now am having leg cramps! I think this is it for me, no more drinking, ever.
