loss of memory without any idea?

I don't know if this is the right forum to post this. but anyway...

Last week, me and my friends were drinking in a local bar. I got pretty high. I din't do anything stupid. I remember the whole evening , every conversation , every joke my friends made. I remember me going to the toilet to puke and stuff...well, i remembered everything.

After two days when i went there, a guy confronted me saying that i had got into a fight with him in the bathroom and i had broken his phone and i had to buy him a new one. Now, i don't have the faintest idea of doing anything close to that. But he said that i was drunk and i would have forgotten everything.

Now , can he be right? i remember the whole evening. Could i have forgotten only this incident alone?
Or is this guy lying ? What do i do? It's an expensive phone.

I think he is lying but he seems convincing.A friend of his confirms this. Is it possible that we remember the whole night but we lose memory of only ten mins or something?

Many of my friends have forgotten stuff from their earlier nights from drinking. But they would know that they blacked out .
Is it possible to lose some memory without your knowledge from drinking?

I do since i keep it in a clip on my side. In my case it's important to have my phone with me all the time.

Yes Jerry. Do not pay for anything! Don’t let him take advantage of you. Now on the other hand you did break my phone. lol (just curious) did he say he won the fight?

Jerry if you don’t mind me asking, how much a week do you drink or get high? How old are you? Have you ever giving much thought to quitting? I quit almost a year ago and it’s amazing how much better I feel. Here's the bad thing though man, when I was 38 I was diagnosed with end stage cirrhosis. Talk about having a bad day huh? So now I have a couple of things wrong with me almost a year later such as:
Hiatal hernia
umbilical hernia
gall stones
enlarged spleen
permanent nerve damage
spider veins
varicose veins
grade 3 varacies
hepatic encephalopathy (which add a lot more symptoms)
cirrhosis
joint pain everywhere

Yeah I think that about covers it. Don’t think it cant happen to you..
Take good care of yourself my friend, You really only have one chance to live your life right.
If you think you can do it all by the time your 39 then roll the dice!

Thanks for your concern . That place is a restaurant *** bar. we hang out there every week. have a beer or something max. That day alone, i got high.

Well, anyway, i remember going to the bathroom twice , puking and i even remember walking out of it to our table.

So obviously , i would have remembered if something had gone wrong in the bathroom right?
especially something like this. ( a fight )

I would ask my friends also if this person was in the bar when you were the night the phone got broke, so he says.......If that had happened to me i would of been right up in someones grill ASAP.

Jerry no offence but when I try to percieve what kind of person you are I know that you are a nice guy who has maybe only ever been in one real fight in your entire life if that. This guy thinks you are gullable enough to replace his phone. His friend is drinking so yeah he is going to go along with whatever his friend told you. Just tell him your friends said you didnt do it and do not replace it. He must have you confused with someone else.

Jerry I am concerned about you man. After a night like that you returned to the bar two days later with the intention of drinking again. Its time for you to think about quitting just like i did. A better life is waiting for you plus then forsure you wont be replacing the phone. ha ha Like Sarah said "stick around and talk to us"

Yes you are in the right place to be posting.  I hope you take a long hard look at what is going on here.  We have all been where you are at.  How often do you drink?  You mention going back there a couple days later.  I found out alot of nasty things i had done when i thought i had remembered the whole night too.  I hope you stick around and talk with us.......sara

If you are drinking to the point that you puke then you need to take a long hard look at your drinking. This is not normal behavior.
I have done things when I was drinking that I dont remember, I thought I remembered everything that had happened and when people would tell me I would not believe them, worse than not remembering was thinking I had done things that I had not done. I once made an anonymousness phone call to police near where I live thinking I had knocked down a pedestrian driving home from a bar, I was so paranoid about this and it really freaked me out, thankfully it was all in my head.
I cant help you with the phone, you must decide if you pay this guy or not but if you did damage his phone then you are lucky, a phone can be replaced a human life can not.
