had 2 misscarages. could husbands alcohol and pot make sperm deformed?  Will he withdraw from 2 shots of vodka a day if he stops ct?  He made a statement I can have a occasional drink at holiday get togethers this makes me question his sincerity.

i hope ur hub stays sober 2...he's really done some damage 2 hisself!xanax bad to give alcoholics....i've seen librium used with doseage decreased gradually as withdrawal symptoms subside.this strictly monitored by doctor with eventual goal of no librium at all.Campral good drug to stop cravings and theres good anti-depressants and anti-anxiety agents that aren't addictive that can aid him thru this transition!good that son is a motivating factor 2 him!

the benzos like xanax are the most addictive drug on the market!!!! to de toxt on benzos is twice as bad as alcohol!!! get him off xanax rite away if not sooner!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for your input.  I hope my husband will stay clean. He has been clean since tuesday. He had a kidney stone early tuesday morning so we went to emergency room.  Apparently his uric acid level is high and caused it. Excessive alcohol abuse is one of the causes of high uric acid levels.  After we got home the hospital called and they found a nodual on his lung by accident when scanning his kidneys.  He is following up with a doctor now and stopped alcohol, ciggarttes and pot. The doctor gave him xanax for his nerves.  He is very moody and sometimes appears to be jumping out of his skin. He has made several comments like all I want to do is drink. But he hasn't I have become very able to tell if he has.  He says all he can think about is our 4 yr old son growing up without him.

ur husband needs to work on it!my nephew now 36 had a father who was the biggest dope dealer and addict on the face of the earth.His father is dead but that boy was very normal and is in fact a bank manager and sits on the board of a halfway house for parolees with substance abuse problems!there is a genetic predispostion towards alcoholism'/drug addiction and why bring a child in2 this already difficult world with a father whose a mess?very poor role modeling and a child doesn't make someone stop drinking!

He would not confirm or deny it.  What he said was that is a lot of alcohol consumption and you might want to work or it and your relationship before trying to add a new family member.
