just beer

I was aheavy drinker from age 14 to 40. I quit drinking completely for 1 year. I have begun to have a few beers once a week. I enjoy these beers but i always feel I want more. I have not drank hard liquor during these sessions. I have not started drinking during the week, this once a week beers has been going on for six months. Should I be scared it will lead back to getting drunk 5 days a week like I used to?

I can tell you that alcohol is insidious.  It might not happen tomorrow or next week but you will be back to where you were when you quit drinking. You may even pass the point where you left off.  You won't even realize its happening. That is the truth about alcohol.  A lot of people call what you are doing research and development.  Only you know if alcohol is dangerous for you.  Normal people do not drink in excess. They don't get drunk and they usually don't finish their drinks.  People with problems with alcohol have trouble controlling what they consume.  Keep us posted.
