Not Pretty

I have been addicted to alcohol for many years now, had a pretty severe binge lasting apprx. 2 weeks, with the chronic drinking never stopping.  Woke up one morning severly ill, shaking, nauseated, week, increased leg/back pain.  Vomitied apprx. 6-10 times for the nextt 2 days, only a bit of liguid coming up as I couldn't eat anything, the dry heaves were so sever I thought I was going to dislodge something in my stomach.  The next day was very weak, and had intense back/leg pain.  Also had been taking increased Tylenol during this time.  The next evening I felt ill very suddenly and ended up vomiting quite a bit of dark, brown vomit two different times.  Also have been having constant night sweats that smell faintly like urine......any ideas?

when I first read this thread I had one thing in mind for Nomoreforme.. and that was to Please Please Quit Drinking.. If your liver could speak to you it would say I'm dieing.. the pain in your back is your kidneys screaming... I know these pains I have stage 3 kidney disease I have only one as the other was removed.. I have stage 2 liver last I checked and this was many years ago now.. You describe how I was feeling in the last stages of my addictions and life... Please go to your Dr. and get a liver panel and blood work... Here I'm 56 years old and cannot remember half my life due to alcohol.. my children are grown and I can not remember half of their lives.. Give up the booze.. life is actually a lot easier clean... sending a prayer for you..  lesa

Sara I'm so Damned Happy for you !! 4 years is awesome.. it is so good to feel Real feelings isn't it.. Your Dad knows my friend I bet if you were very still you would feel his warmth surround you. hugs

Congrats Ibizan on your 3rd furry friend ! :))

I am so proud of you, you are one of the winners they talk about in the fellowship. Well done.
I can identify with the bitter-sweet sentiment my dad never lived to see me sober, it was his dying wish that I would get sober. I guess they are both up their looking down and smiling now :)

You do have a busy house and I bet your loving it lol.

I just celebrated 4 yrs off drugs yesterday!!  YAAA ME!  My celebration consisted of Taco pizza and cupcakes!!  It was awesome!  These milestones are always bittersweet for me as i so wish my dad could of shared this time with me.  He never got a chance to see me clean.

Dogs and cat are doing great.  I am babysitting my daughters dog tonight so the house is busy!  The cat is not impressed with the extra 4 legs in the house!

Hi Ibizan & Sara. Sitting here with Marley sprawled out at my feet snoring gently, We are experiencing some strong winds tonight, it is cool to be indoors listing to the wind howl and not have to worry about if I will get home safely (not that I would worry when I was drinking)

How are all your dogs & cats doing guys?

I am always amazed when i read posts like this cuz this was me years ago and i just didnt get it.  Always had to be some other reason than the massive amounts of whiskey i was drinking.  PLEASE you need to stop drinking.  Your body is telling you it is sick too.  Make an appt to see a doctor, fess up to what is going on and get some blood work done.  Your poor liver is screaming, i could even hear it in your post.  You dont have to live like this.  There is a way out but you have to make the first move.  Life without alcohol is much more gratifying, it really is.  Time to take charge of you.  Do this before it is too late. There is no happy ending to alcoholism, only death and it waits for us and i see it calling your name.

I think your body is trying to tell you something that your brain dose not want to hear. ibizan & I and many others on here have had this problem, we did not want to stop. I can only speak from my own experience, when I was in the situation you are in now I was given the chance to quit, I was offered help with my drinking the problems my drinking was causing. I reluctantly agreed to take that help,I am so grateful that I did take that help. Life is good today.

I hope you find some help with your addiction.

Alcohol is very hard on the liver......and there are warnings on the Tylenol bottle that taking it alone more than one should and for longer periods of time could result in liver damage...and mixing this w/alcohol can make u sick and cause more damage.Ever think of giving up the alcohol?going to detox?
