Thank you for your post. I'm 6 days clean and am feeling all those things you mention and I'm sooooo tired! How long did this stage last for you? Wishing you continued success.
Thank you for your concern. How did you stop? How far did your addiction go to alcohol. I have stopoed and started a few times in the last 2 weeks. I want to stop...please help. No AA. I want a one on one strategy and will use a doctor. I drink everyday...tried every strategy...right now it is drinking less and skipping a day...I drink everything but primarily wine....I have been sober for periods of 6 months at most but my drinking has gotten worse...there is no one to help me if I fall and my job means the word to me...
In the late 80's Dr.Anne Mueller pioneered a book Eating Right to Live Sober. You can find revised editions of it on Amazon..the original is a collectors item!and pricey!the sugary foods we love and crave in early recovery...chocolate,ice cream and the like cause the blood sugar levels to peak/crash and we roll w/that.If you're eating a lot of that try to cut it in half.Lean proteins like turkey, chicken and fish are good, complex carbs like baked potato w.skin on is good and fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables help for good nutrition and feeling more at ease.Juicing is very good and plenty of water. We love that caffeine but after 4 pm it can aggravate insomnia which is natural in early recovery.
Also, I suffered a lot of muscle aches and cramps when I stopped. And so I took a lot of hot baths with episom salts. Give it a try...you will feel better.
Best of luck!!!
