alt asts should be in the normal range..teens and 20s...yes they should come down when you stop drinking...alcohol = bad liver function...impaired livers will not store glucose right....your brain and mussels need it...the liver does so much....good luck....billy
My doctor called and said my liver enzyme levels were a little elevated and I should stop taking all meds and stop drinking. Its only been five days and its sooo hard anyway, will my enzymes get lower? And should I just never drink again??
In alcoholic hepatitis(1/3 of heavy drinkers get it) you see(among other things) abdominal pain and tenderness.

i was drinking a third of a fifth a day...everyone gets different degrees of symptoms..i can tell you as it sounds like you were drinking quite a bit and that 3 days is not that long...in fact i felt no withdrawl in the first 3 days.but on the 4th it started...and had nightmares ...real bad anxiety.shaking..sweating...lots of pain...i should have gotten help...i wonder if your husband knows exactly whats going on...if he does then he can help a lot...maybe though you won't have bad symptoms...but i did post the liver pain thing after reading your last posts hopeing to help you understanding the under the right rib pain..of course when i quit i also had lots of other pain..after i stopped i was freaking out when i got such bad liver pain never thinking it could be a good pain untill i read a post about it(and thinking it was my liver not the area around it)..for me the forums are great for support and internet friends that help are really neat...good luck and keep posting...billy
How long ago did you stop and how much were you drinking. I'm on day three and was drinking heavily for about 9 months. I'm in my early thirties. Now I feel like I'm very bloated and some times feel a bulge under my rib cage but it's a little down further and to the side. Is this my liver?
