Severe allergies this year

anyone else experiencing HORRIBLE allergies this year? I'm on Zyrtec, Singulair, Benadryl, Advair, Flonase, Astelin, Mucinex and STILL have drainage and chest/nasal congestion.  Feeling rundown and tired and want to get over this.  This is the second time I've been through somethine like this in 2011.  Any advice would be appreciated.

ask dr for seasonal kenalog shot, triamcinolone acetonide , it is a steroid that takes a few days to work so u time it for the worst season and lasts about 3 to 4 months,
. . generally getting away from the allergan is best which means keeping your windows closed and car windows closed and stay away from pollen or other allergan

what kind of cooling system is used in your home, what about work

also boost your immune system which seems weak; buy from vitamin store super high culture count pro-biotics; enough to take 100 billion daily x 1 mo, then 50 bil x 1 mo, then stay at 25 billion culture counts daily

if u have pets that cause allergic reactions, get rid of them

I had allergy shots when I was younger and thought that would be it, but apparently I was wrong.  My NP changed Advair (due to cost) and gave me samples of Symbicort and Pulmicort inhalers to try, gave me a shot and antibiotic RX.  I just hate taking all this medication.  I will try to get in a routine with my nasal rinse, maybe that will help and guess I could see if I need to get back with an ENT to possibly start shots again.  My allergies are all seasonal type allergies and I live in Port Arthur, Texas (Gulf Coast) so unfortunately, they can act up year round.  Between that and when they burn the marshes around here, I'm doomed.  Thanks for your input.  I really appreciate it.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello and hope you are doing well.

As suggested immunotherapy may help, as avoiding the allergen or getting yourself desensitized will help prevent further attacks. In allergic testing, the severity of the allergic reaction is tested and based on this the therapy is planned. The dilution of the agent used and the course of therapy are planned according to the severity and with adequate monitoring the person is desensitized. In the meantime practice good breathing exercises, humidify your room and do steam inhalations.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

Hi,

I have several suggestions.

First, add a sinus rinse to your routine.  They sound gros, but they are so effective.

Another thought is to cosider trying Patanase instead of the Astelin.  Astelin wasn't a problem for me, but it sucesseors Astepro and Astepro 0.15% were horrible.  I felt better when I didn't use the med then when I did.  I got very congested after using it and it lasted about 5 hour with constant, Astepro drainage.

Lastly, it may be time to consider allergy shots.

God bless.
