Skin allergy

I have scabs all over my body which are itchy.  The itch is intense and even more so when I rub the skin.  The skin gets red around the scabs at the end of the day.  Taking a shower is an ordeal.  It's really hard not to scratch and so I just rub the scabs but there's no relief.

They are spreading and there's nothing working. I mean the creams against itchiness work when I apply them but the scabs are not getting less itchy nor less small afterwards.  I have scabs of all sizes and it's started over a month ago.  The GP says that stress has caused these hives and so I have been prescribed some antihistamines (fexofenadine) which did not work that well.
