Very ill cortisone injection or heart????

I had a cortisone injection in my knee 2/7, I have had really bad pain and swelling in my knee and have been developing chest pain, shortness of breathe, bloating, muscle weakness, fatigued, severe dizziness but feels like I am being shocked all the time, severe nausea, mild face swelling, chills, mood changes and vision changes since off and on. Now for a week straight all the symptoms are continuous and crippling. Made phone calls to the doctors office that done the injection 3 to 5 times a week since the injection for all that was going on. I have been to the ER, and family doctor 3 times this past week, we ruled out blood clot in lung and a heartattack and had a GI cocktail but no relief. Now this doctor would like to see me in the office thursday to see what's going on. Is this an allergic reaction? Keep in mind this is a WC case so no other doctor would advise, treat or even look at my knee....

I had a similar reaction after getting a hydro-cortizone injection into my hand a few years ago & was told by my family DR that it sounded like it could have been an allergic reaction to either the hydro-cortizone or the stuff they used to numb the area before it.  An allergy to Hydro-cortizone is rare, but not unheard of.  I would strongly suggest mentioning to ur DR that this is what you believe it may be & see what he tells you.

I know this probably isn't much help, but at least now you know that you aren't the only 1 that has had symptoms like those after an injection.
Please post an update after you see ur DR & Good luck

Hi, welcome to the forum, allergy seems to be unlikely. Steroids can cause muscle weakness, abdominal pain etc but there are other possibilities of dizziness like dehydration, anemia, low blood pressure, sweating, hypoglycemia, motion sickness, tiredness and fatigue etc. Some time there may be a history of vertigo or some neurological problem.

Drinking lot of water and fruit juice, relaxation, fresh air will help you. If dizziness is with palpitation, profuse sweating then you must immediately visit hospital. I suggest you to consult neuro physician and get evaluated. Take care and regards.

Ok here is an update..Dr. McMath (ortho workers comp doctor) seen me on thursday and laughed when he seen my knee and it was still swollen after being off my feet and work for 8 days straight..he asked what he could do he told me that my knee cap was worn down from old age and started laughing..I told him all my symtoms and what has been going on for a month and that I thought I might have been allergic to the cortisone or what ever he put in my knee because I had a allergic reaction to the Lyrica and the celebrex plus history of severe ulcer bleed anti-inflammatorys are not good for me unless the bad outweighs the good he said everyone has a reaction and the cortisone wouldn't be in my system that long..I started to cry and he laughed out loud at me..I asked him if he gave me a prescription for vicodin he said yes I told him no you didn't it was loratab and I was sick from it he told me they were the same??? He stood up and said there is nothing else I can do for you and I told him then you sign a release from me and I will get a second opinion.. I called my workers comp representative at work because its a third party deal and told her what had happen and I wanted a new doctor and she said she will get the paperwork in the mail for me and I told her she had one week to get me to a doctor in Toldedo before I get an attorney invoved. Not only did this doctor waste the companys money but his bedside manner has a lot to be desired and I am thinking about reporting the situation to the medical board and possible neglect because he was aware of my issue all along and negelcted as a doctor to even see me to see what was really gone on and what scares me the most is that he waited so long that the damage got worse..
