Hello,
Upper respiratory tract infections can lead to inflammation of sinuses which in turn lead to excess production of mucus which on non drainage can lead to pressure on the sinuses and hence headache and a feeling of light headedness. The sinuses are air-filled spaces lined with mucous membranes surrounding the forehead, cheeks and eyes.
Are you having any nasal congestion or post nasal drip?If yes, then sinusitis may be the causing pathology. In that case, along with the antibiotics, pls take some nasal sprays containing decongestants or steroids.Saline nasal sprays are also helpful and without any side effects.Oral over-the-counter (OTC) decongestant combined with an anti-inflammatory analgesic (pain reliever) like Ibuprofen is also useful.Inhale plenty of steam to loosen the mucus and eat simple wholesome food.
If the symptoms persist then other causes of such symptoms like hypoglycemia, low BP,cervical spondolysis, vertebrobasilar insufficiency, inner ear diseases,TIA(transient ischemic attacks) and stroke have to be ruled out.
Hope it helps. Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.
