I have ADHD but I don't want to be medicated

I am 24 years old and I have had ADHD since i was a kid, (IDK if it can randomly start effecting you) I was on medication for it my whole childhood once they found out I had ADHD> After a while of taking adderal (i think that's how you spell it) I started to get really angry a lot and was having mood swings and depression issues and even became suicidal. I had to go into a mental health hospital for about 3 weeks to be monitored while trying new medications. I was put on welbutron and some other medication along with the adderal which it worked but I didn't like it because it made me numb to the world. I had no emotions what so ever it seemed like. So once I got older I stopped taking medication all together. But now it effects my work. My last job I didn't tell them I have ADHD because I don't want to be judged by it and I got fire two weeks later. I really rather not be on medication but I just can't seem to keep my mind on one thing. I'm day dreaming the majority of the time. I can't sit still in my chair. my feet have to be moving.  Im all over the place. I did for a while get back on addreal while i was taking classes but I was being a complete B to my husband and being unresponsive to his affection. It was basically the attitude of get away from me im to busy to deal with you. I love my husband very much and I don't want him to feel like I don't care for him.  Is there any known natural therapy that wont change my mood and make me angry that had worked for people?

Follow these natural techniques to help you increase your concentration and relax the mind.Keep notes of your progress and share with the forum. As you want your help your mind and body, you will feel the difference in days. Let me know when you can do anulom vilom for more than 5 minutes.
Build up your timing slowly and you will start to notice benefits gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy stop, and resume after 1 minute

Bhastrika - Take a long deep breath into the lungs(chest not tummy) via the nose and then completely breathe out through the nose.Duration upto 5 minutes.

Kapalbhati -(Do it before eating) Push air forcefully out through the nose about once per second. Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for 15 to 30 minutes twice a day.  Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently.

Anulom Vilom - Close your right nostril with thumb and deep breath-in through left nostril
then – close left nostril with two fingers and breath-out through right nostril
then -keeping the left nostril closed  deep breath-in through right nostril
then - close your right nostril with thumb and breath-out through left nostril.
This is one cycle of anulom vilom.
Repeat this cycle for 15 to 30  minutes twice a day.
You can do this before breakfast/lunch/dinner or before bedtime or in bed.Remember to take deep long breaths into the lungs. You can do this while sitting on floor or chair or lying in bed.

Bhramri Pranayam -Close eyes. Close ears with thumb, index finger on forehead, and rest three fingers on base of nose touching eyes. Breathe in through nose. And now breathe out through nose while humming like a bee.

Sometimes a Candida albicans infestation is mistaken for ADHD. Get off sugar and reduce starches. Eat well-balanced meals and stay away from fad diets and processed foods.

You might find help in taking a mild iodine supplement. I take Lugol's solution (potassium iodide). A supplemental dosage would be five drops of Lugol's 2% solution per week, taken one drop each day on Monday, Tuesday, etc. There are no side effects from such a low dose. Our current diet is deficient in iodine. This makes the mind sluggish and creates other problems as well.

Just to issue a caveat here, I managed health food stores for 18 years and virtually nobody got any relief from L-theanine, including me.  If you drink it in green tea, you're also consuming caffeine, so it's at best a wash.  As a supplement, you eliminate the caffeine, but as I said, it doesn't seem to work very well by itself, at least to my anecdotal experience.  Didn't help me at all, either.  A couple of people did see some relief from it, but it's no panacea.  A combined approach is still best.  As for diet, no, an all animal diet isn't going to work for anyone -- no antioxidants, and you'll die from heart disease.  For some, a vegetarian diet is the ticket, for some more animal protein, but it's hard to see how very hard to digest animal only will work.  People who eat all animal diets don't live very long -- the Plains Indians, Eskimos, and the like.  Avoiding sugar is a good thing, but that doesn't eliminate everything but meat!

L- theanine (amino acid found in green tea) is the natural ADHD solution.

Excerpts from Good 4 all - pure L-theanine 200 mg:

L-theanine has been demonstrated to:

• induce relaxation
• lower stress
• diminish symptoms of PMS
• support normal, health attitude during PMS
• increase mental acuity
• improve learning ability and performance
• increase concentration
• adds unami (a brothy or savory) taste when added to water, coffee, tea, etc.
• decreases bitter taste when added to coffee, tea, and other beverages and foods
• takes effect within 30 minutes after consumption
• no known cautions or drug interactions"

L-theanine is a unique free form amino acid found only in the tea plant and certain species of genus Camellia, C. japonica and C. sasanqua. L-theanine is a relaxant that increases alpha-waves producing mental and physical relaxation decreasing stress and anxiety, without inducing drowsiness.

Based on the results of clinical studies, it has been established that l-theanine is effective in single dosages in the range of 50-200 mg. It is suggested that subjects with higher levels of anxiety take a dose at the higher end of the effective range (100 - 200 mg) for best results.

Biologically Active - In addition to relaxation, research suggests that L-theanine may have application in 1) improving learning performance, 2) heightening mental acuity - neurotransmitter, 3) promoting concentration, 4) acting antagonistically against the paralysis induced by caffeine, 5) supporting the immune system, and 6) increasing brain dopamine levels among other positive benefits with no known downside.

Documented Safety - L-theanine is considered to be safe based on its historical use as a component of tea and on favorable toxicology studies. Tea is the most consumed beverage worldwide after water, and has been consumed for thousands of years by billions of people. It is estimated that a heavy tea drinker (6-8 cups daily) will consume between 200 to 400 mg of L-theanine daily.
