Hi When I asked my doctor why I had anxiety and others did not, he said Some of us are just wired that way. I was adopted and raised by a very nervous mother, I don't think that helped. We are prone to be anxious about anything and everything until we learn to live in the moment and stop looking ahead and projecting all the time. What would be a stressfull event for you? A wedding? Going to see a friend? Going to the store? With anxiety your world can get pretty small if we start to avoid places and things. It helps to to through the stressful events and tell yourself how much different this is going to be because your going to use relaxation techincs. They really do work. After awhile it goes away. At that point you can wean off the pills. The anxiety never goes away, its definitely got a purpose for us, we just feeling it at inappropriate times. The first time I had a panic attack I thought I was having a heart attack and I was only 32!
Sometimes something like a death in the family, a marriage, like you childbirth can trigger our anxieties. Next time you feel anxious just acknowleadge its presense and go along with what you were doing. You know you will see that as soon as your not thinking about it anymore, its gone!! Right? Try some of this and let me know how you doing. Also if you know exactly know what anxiety is, educate yourself on it, it will help. Good Luck! You can turn this around!! :)
I am neither a doctor nor do I take any medications for my anxiety issues, but would certainly look up a counselor who is trained in anxiety issues and schedule a few sessions...
Good luck to you
M
