What medications did you take (including "natural remedies")...and did the ER staff officially diagnose you with SS?  If so, what was the treatment they prescribed?

serotonin syndrome usually goes away after about 24 hours. i too am curious what you have been taking to cause this. i have suffered a mild case of SS before and the muscle pain is very intense. also it seemed to really hinder my concentration. i did go to work on that particular day (i cleaned a woman's house) and it truly was a difficult day, but i made it thru.
is it possible, since you went to the ER, you can call them and get a doctor to excuse you from work?
if it's really bad, there are some herbs that are safe and natural, and are known to be antiserotonergic. that word means they actually reduce the amount of serotonin in your body.
you can buy feverfew over the counter in the herbs and vitamins section of most stores. they usually come in capsules. try taking one, and if your symptoms don't improve in an hour, take another, but no more than 2 in 6 hours.
ginger root is also good for decreasing serotonin levels. it's best to buy the raw root which can be found at most grocery stores in the fruit and veggie section. you can eat it raw. be sure to peel the skin off, and just try a couple bites at first. it's a bit spicy but rather pleasant in my opinion.
if you can't stand the taste of raw ginger you can dice the root, and steep it in hot water for 12-15 minutes. add plenty of honey and you've got a very tasty tea. hope this helps.
