heart problem?

I am a 17 year old male. I am 5'8 142 pounds. I don't have any diseases. No one in my family has any heart problems. I've recently had an ECG and it had a fast heart rate, but the doctor felt it was anxiety. I also had an echocardiogram and it was perfect. I had a blood test and it was also perfect. My cholesterol level was 150. Throughout the day I feel not a pain in my chest, but it can get uncomfortable for a minute, go away, and come back. Might I have a heart attack or is it just my anxiety?

yea if your playin ball and you feel fine thats cuz your active and distracted.my first full blown panic attack happend after i smoked weed also, and that was the worst.the chest pain for me comes and gos as it pleases.caffine for me brings that pain in my chest, and others things make the shortness of breathe with no pain in my chest.when i play drums i feel perfect but as soon as i stop i can feel it.my chest pain was constant for 2 months and now thatr i accepted i have anxiety its gone.the most i get is shortness of breathe and the more i focus on breathing the worse it gets for me so i just distract myself and sometimes it helps.i cant smoke weed anymore and especially do cocaine or ill go into tachycardia.i could be wrong but if you had a heart/lung problem theres no way you wouldnt be playin basketball without collapsing .and i too was winded goin up stairs for lil while but i could take a walk outside and breathe fine its weird...i call anxiety a "pile up" disease the more thing that go on the worse its gonna get over time and you dont realize it but you can always go to your doc and run more test and maybe get second opionions

cheers

I appreciate the post. I'm not doubting my doctors at all, however, I think if they're missing something, they just didn't run the right test. I just don't understand or comprehend what can possibly cause a consistent chest pain that can be there for 1 minute and gone for a while, but can happen throughout the whole day. I feel completely fine when I wake up in the morning. I feel better than ever, but two hours later I get that same weird/different feeling in my chest. Allow me to be personal and explain the timeline of when this happened. About 2 months ago I began getting more fatigue. Walking up stairs would make me a tiny bit out of breath than I used to get. I was going to set up an appointment, but I just didn't. Then around 3 weeks later the president of my school died. Then a week after that a teacher of mine died in a tragic car accident. I started to feel more upset and stressed about life. The Wednesday of his funeral I was sitting on my couch and all of a sudden this sensation that I couldn't breath came over me. I went to my doctors that day and he felt it was hyperventilation. I haven't felt any chest pain up to this point. 3 days later I would say is when I started to feel the chest pain, but it got even worse a week later when I went paint balling. The chest pain, although, it's gotten better, has been here for a constant 2 weeks now. I do have a history of anxiety. It started last June when I smoked marijuana and I had a few panic attacks through the summer, but I never felt chest pain then. Possibly it can be a muscle in my chest, but I think there might be some blockage. It's weird that I'm able to still go to the gym and play basketball without having to rest though, but again, I appreciate your reply.

Anxiety about ones heart is a major source of anxiety for many people here in this community.  That is originally where my anxiety had come from.  I like you had had numerous tests done that confirmed I was fine.  You did the right thing by going to go get checked out...now you have to believe your doctor.  You don't have anything wrong with your heart and that is a good thing plus statistically you are VERY young and have been given a clean slate as far as your heart is concerned in my opinion.

Anxiety can throw us for a loop.  The mind is a VERY powerful tool...have you suffered from anxiety in the past?  If so, how long?  I encourage you to read the posts and journals around here and you will find what you are going threw can be very common...keep us posted!
