A Weird Panic Attack Symptom?

Hi Everyone,

Hope everyone is having a good day : )

I had a quick question about a symptom that I have had every since my panic attacks started and wanted to know if I was the only one.

Sometimes when I look at people, either for more than 1 min or so. Their faces start to look a bit scary or blurry/distorted?

Does this happen to anyone else?

Thanks so much everyone. I'm starting to cop with things a little better now. Yesterday was the best day I've had since my panic attacks started at the end of March. Today I woke up and my mind started racing but I talked myself down and started focusing on other things. I feel it wanting to creep up but I'm working it down.

Thanks so much for being so wonderful and responding : )

Almost every panic attack I've ever had came with some kind of visual distortion. Peoples faces looked strange, but more often it looked like a small strobe light was turned on...everything was kind of flashing. Also some areas would be dark, some things become blurry, and I would get tunnel vision. I worried about it so much that I went to my eye doctor three different times because I just KNEW something was wrong with my eyes.

Nope, my eyes are fine. It was just the anxiety/panic, like lily said in a state of stress things can get a little weird.

Hi there ! If you stare at almost anything without blinking or just concentrate on what you are looking at it will appear to distort . When you suffer from panic/anxiety things that are completely normal can seem like terror to us at times . Don't worry I have done the same thing and have scared myself just as you are .. You're fine ..Jimmy

Are you staring and not blinking when you do this?  If so....then faces will appear blurry or distorted.  I've never experienced this, but hopefully some of the other members can help with your question.  Stay with us, and take care!
