Hi

I am worried for 14 weeks now about something I did and this is killing me.For example I am so worried that I will have some kind of STD sickness even Aids.

It was protected but I see and feel all this sympthoms and signs that I sometimes do not even understand myself.I have talked to the other sights on this Med help help line ,both STD nad aids and both is telling me there is no sympthoms like what I have. But I am so worried checking for sympthoms the entire day screening myself and then I do see what I am looking for. After that I will ask someone else do they also see the sympthom and they will tell me there is nothing. Why is my mind telling me this and why do I KEEP WORRYING ABOUT THIS.

My armoits was burning and paining and I went to the doctor for cream and used this for weeks to get this to go away, now for using to much of this cream under my armpits it is even more painfull.

I sweat, feel dissy and sometimes feel I want to vomit but this do not happen.I did read allot about AIDS on the inernet but now I feel like I am having all this ,CAN THIS BE JUST ANXIETY?Please help as I am going out of my mind worrying about that I may have it.What ever I feel becomes a reallity is this ANXIETY????

The burning could be one of a number of things or it could just be anxiety. If there is nothing visible on your skin then I doubt very much that is any kind of rash. Have you changed your washing powder or anything that could be causing your skin to burn. You could just be giving yourself psychosomatic symptoms as you have got yourself into a state about the fear of STDs. The only way to be 100% sure about you having an STD or not is to get checked out by an STD clinic, it is quick and painless and then you will know 100% that you are fine. The chances are slim that you have anything but at least if you get tested then you will no for sure that you are working yourself into state for nothing. Everyone gets anxious about tests and it is only natural to think about the worse case scenario but I think it will be in your  best physical and mental health interest to get it over and done with.

HIV can only be tested for by taking blood, and the test does not always pick up anything until about 12 weeks after exposure. To my knowledge the only thing that a urine test can pick up around the sexual subject pregnancy and chlamydia.

Your symptoms do not sound like any STD I know of but I am not a doctor. As said it could be anxiety as you are obviously very anxious about whats going. Burning pain is normally associated with your nerves, I experienced burning when I was in a highly anxious state and I was told that this was something to do with my nerve endings where i had put so much stress on my body.

Go and get checked to put your mind at rest, then you will more than probably see an improvement in your symptomalogy if it was caused my anxiety.

Best of luck

Hi goodeys

Thanks for the reply much appreciated.

I never had this burning feeling in my body before. This only started after the sexual encounter. It feel like an burning rash but it is not red, even not vissable to the eye.I can only feel it.The intercourse was fully protected other wise I wouldve shown signs of HIV allready as it is 14 weeks allready.

I am sure the doctor wouldve picked up any problems in the urine test,AM I CORRECT IN SAYING THIS.I did this urine test 4 weeks after my encounter. It acctually started then this burning feeling.I read about all sympthoms in the std and do not see any of them revering to my sympthoms.Someone told me it may only be a dry skin problem but I can not beleive this as it is going on for 4 weeks. It acctually burns in my armpits and next to my inner leg close to my body parts.ONE WEEK THE ARMPITS THE NEXT WEEK DOWN THERE.VERY STRANGE.MAYBE A EXCUME

I AM TO AFRAID TO GO FOR TESTS AS IT MAYBE CAN BE SOETHING I DO NOT WANT TO HEAR.....VERY AFFRAID!!!!

Yes it is so possible to feel pain and a huge array of symptoms through anxiety alone. I have suffered with heart failure, throat cancer, brain tumours, blood clots, dissected aorta etc etc In reality I had nothing physically wrong with me at all and it was all psychosomatic pain caused by nothing more than anxiety. Are brains are so powerful and they can tell your body things that are not true.

Have you suffered like this in the past or is it only since your sexual encounter?

You can always go to a sexual health clinic to get fully screened. They will do more than a urine test and will test you for every std known to mankind. However, if intercourse was fully protected and you have seen your doctor then you need to try and be reassured by this. If the doctor thought that there was a remote possibility that you had an STD then he would've sent you for the appropriate swabs and blood tests.
For your own peace of mind and sanity I would recommend that you do go to the sexual health clinic though so that you can reassure yourself that there is 100% nothing wrong with in that department.

Good luck

Hi Mr Green.

Thanks for your reply.I have visit the doctor 7 weeks back  where he did a urine test on me.All the results came back negative and he said everything looks fine. But this burning sensation in my leg and armpits was explained to him. He`said if there was something wrong in my bladder they would picked it up on the urine test. Can someone feel pain that is not there by having ANXIETY,IS THIS POSSIBLE?

I will appreciate your reply.

There are many various types of anxiety. You could simply be going through one of them. Like illness anxiety. When a person really believes they have caught something. To them it will be very real. Symptoms and all will be there. That's the power of the mind once it latches onto something. What you have to do is accept the answers your own doctor might have given you. You have been tested? If not, go have a few tests done. See that they all come back negative. Once you see that, accept the results. We can all get ideas in our heads and make those ideas become our reality. Keep your head up and keep us posted.
