After Xanax withdrawl(withdrawal)

After Xanax withdrawl(withdrawal)

I wanted to post this after finally getting off xanax. It's ben 10 years and I feel much better. It took 6 months to taper off. I wanted to let you know what I felt because this forem has really helped me. Here is what I felt:
Initially: Scared and horified of what may come
2-5 days: Panic Attacks 3-8 times daily
6-10 days: Panic attacks and an unknown fear.
10-30 days: A far away feeling from reality. I felt as though everything was moving without me. Lucid hallucinations and vivid dreams. Very dark thoughts.
30-60 days: Felt it had been eradicated but random debilitating attacks. (hospital visit type attacks, very severe)
60-120 days: Out of body feeling when an attttack would hit. Other worldly idealogy.Severe attacks like the first week!
120-1800 days: Less frequent. The intensity is less and the pain is less (I had heart pain with my attacks). I still have out of body feelings, numbing fingers and  sympathic reactions but i is less acute.
Now: Panic attacks at random.
Dealing with this without drugs is odd for me, but I have noticed a new me. Sounds odd, but life is better without the dope. I would NOT recommend anyone going cold turkey. I tried and it's impossible. The drugs have too much of a half life and too much of a hold on most anxiety riddled sufferers.

Give me a call or e-mail if you want to try this. Again. It's a long process, but worth it. MY GOD IT'S WORTH IT!

I quick tip for benzodiazepine withdrawals. It is recommended to use the cross-tapering technique by slowly switching the benzo you're on to a longer acting benzo like diazepam for the equivalent dose. Diazepam have a long half-life and can make the benzo withdrawal smoother.

Never try to do that on your own, change in your medication, dosage and/or withdrawal schedule must be addressed with a qualified physician.

Thanks for the advice although it seems more like preaching. It's been 9 months now. Have you detoxed. Can I talk to you. I am tired of talking to people who prostrate themselves as though they are educated et do not know very much. I appreciate any help. Although to be honest my problems after this withdrawl (withdrawal) are not even affiliated to this forem. I still have anxiety (panic attacks) but life is different. I have to handle it and that is very tough. I hope you are good and not going through this. I'd love to hear your opinion if it is not chastising. I already did the other.

Cheers,

T

I have been withdrawing from Xanax and it has been hell for me... It is better now thanks to taking nutritional supplements. My doctor, the one that prescribed it for anxiety and sleeping told me to cut my dose in half and only take one pill. When I called her again to prescribe something comparable, she referred me to my nursepractitioner/psych doctor... I am lucky to be able to see her on Jun 1 for they are tightly scheduled at the place I go to for mental health...I am taking B complex MorEPA-Omega 3 fish oil and GABASoothe and they seem to ease the symptoms...Any suggestions? ideas or recomendations? I've done my research and in the last 4-5 weeks I been withdrawing I have experienced at least 70% of all withdrawal symptoms...
