Anxiety/Stress Increase Body Temperature???

Im just curious, but does anyone know if anxiety/stress can increase your body temperature. Recently over the past few months my temperature has been in the 99s one time reaching 99.7. I have been under extreme stress since the beginning of the year...could my stress and anxiety be causing a fluctuation in my temperature. I have been to the doctors and they dont seem to be alarmed. Can someone please give me some insight or personal experiences.

Hi,  I was just asking the same question.  Mine has been going up and down for months now and I just read on a site that stress can change your body temperature by 1 degree.  I kept wondering why my temperature kept going up to 99 and change, then a few minutes later back to normal or lower.  I also have stress headaches.  All my tests have come back good.  I am also  hypothyroid which lowers my temperature so it is a rollercoaster of up and down temperatures.  The only problem I have is extreme work stress.  I went through  "the change" 10 years ago so don't know if it is related or not.

It's funny what stress and pain can do to us.  Our heart rate goes up too.  My son had an eye injury and his heart rate was really high and I asked about it and they said in the ER that it was a response to the pain he was in.  So, ya, I'm sure body temp can go up I'm sure.
I do wonder why you're checking your temperature all the time -- a definite sign of anxiety.  For me, I never check my temperature, but I do have temperature swings.  I'm male, but I'm getting older as well, so maybe this happens with age.  What I do know is that antidepressants can definitely cause the sweats, especially Lexapro and Celexa.  For years, I was always too warm, and now I'm getting cold and sometimes even the shivers.  I used to sleep with light blankets and now am covered with them.  Things do change.
Don't even get me started on body temp issues especially when sleeping at night.  I'm of 'that' age.  Lordy, one night I need a high powered fan directly on me and the next I've got 10 blankets on me.  And some nights I do both.  Good times.  I'm a dream to sleep with, just ask my husband.  I checked my temp daily when I wanted to have a baby.  :>)  When I wonder if I'm sick or my kids are sick, when we just don't feel right or our cheeks bust out red or we are hot and cold, then I take the temp frequently.  But there is always a reason.  We don't randomly check . . . so that is a good question.  Why the frequent temp checks.
For a typical adult, body temperature can be anywhere from 97 F to 99 F.
Your temperature doesn’t stay the same all day, and it will vary throughout your lifetime, too. Some things cause your temperature to move around during the day, so there is no purpose in studying it unless you are  sick and want to make sure you don't have a fever.
Both posters had normal temp and probably didn't realize it varies through every day.
