And if you care to, YOU can take on the illimitable task of trying to convince her to see her doctor and get her s h i t in the same sock............as me dear departed mum would say.
Just read elsewhere she is tapering off both meds at once. Something she was told not to do by Ryan. Clear the xanax first and then taper off the Klonopin.
I can go back through my PMs from you and show you the EXACT same post at least seven or eight times...........some are under your other name, but we both always knew who you were, since we discussed THAT as well.
You have been given the only advice any of us can give you many, many times and yet you continue to ignore it! What is it you want to hear from us? That your crazy, hit and miss self-medicating is a good idea? You've been told by me, EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU'VE WRITTEN, that what you are doing is wrong and that you absolutely need to get back with your doctor. I will NOT tell you again. If you are not going to listen to ANY of us, perhaps it would be better for you to find another forum.
I am very sorry this is so harsh msanxiety, but we have, I firmly believe, done all we possibly can for you.
I wish you the best of luck and health.

I know she is still on xanax from elsewhere. She is just about off it. She is not tapering off Klonopin at all. She was given the Klonopin to help her taper off the xanax. Cutting it in half was of her own doing. Not her doctors advice or anything like that at all. I'm sure she will make things a bit clearer when next she posts.
You may be right...but even so...I cannot imagine that that would be the proper way to taper off of Klonopin...maybe I'm wrong there.....but I just can't see how that would be effective knowing how Klonopin needs dosed. I THOUGHT that she had completed her Xanax taper completely and was now just tapering off the Klonopin. But, now I'm corn-fused. :0) I'm pretty sure that msanxiety uses two id's to post with, which also is very confusing....
If this IS the taper recommendations that ms got from her physician, then I think she needs to clarify with him/her...and certainly follow up with any concerns she is having about the process.
MS had a hard time even when implementing the Klonopin with taking it as directed...which is my main concern here.
I'd be curious to hear from her how she got the idea to take 1/2 the prescribed dose every 4 hours....I honestly did not think that was anywhere near the right way to taper from Klonopin. I would think in essence, she is actually increasing the overall plasma level of the medication. However, again...I may be wrong on this one...not sure.
I just hope she gets everything straightened out.
MS....it seems that you are still suffering with a high level of uncoontrolled anxiety....is there a reason you decided to stop taking the Klonopin after you stopped the Xanax? One would think that Klonopin might be a very helpful med for you as a maintenence drug. Are you in therapy at least?
Good questions raised, MrGreen...hopefully they can be clarified.
I may have got this one wrong. But I imagine is that she is tapering off xanax, using klonopin to help lessen the withdrawls. Meant to take 1 every 8 hours of the klonopin. But decided to half the tablets and take 1.2 every 4 hours instead. Which is still making her feel the withdrawls from the xanax.
With all due respect...we've all been round and round this with you. FIRST and foremost...you cannot and should not just, on a whim...alter your prescription, either the dose...or the frequency. You are taking the Klonopin completely inappropriately, and I think you've been around here long enough to know that.
If you want to taper off of the Klonopin, then sit down with the prescribing doctor and come up with a taper plan...and then stick to it! If you are having problems...then contact that doctor who prescribed the taper for guidance.
If you now decide to go from the erratic way you've been taking it (and most definitely....4 hrs is MUCH too close together for dosages...the recommendation is 12 hours) to go back to your original Rx....you will feel even worse. Is what you are doing "dangerous"...not to scare you...but yes, it could be. I doubt you have a risk of overdosing....but you simply cannot just form your own Rx...that is what docs are for.
PLEASE take the advice that has been given to you so many times.....communicate and work with your doctor...who knows YOU and can guide you thru this process. There is only so much that people online can tell you....and honestly...after being down this road...you still aren't understanding how these meds work and why it is important to follow the prescription directions.
