I haven't been able to drive since age 15, bc of anxiety?

When I was 15 I had my first panic attack, not long after I developed eye floaters, then I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I quit driving bc of the fibro I was so weak. But now that I have it under control I'm 26 and still can't drive. As a passenger when we come to a red-light or any stop allot of the time the road looks as if it's  still moving. I have always assumed it was anxiety. Has anyone ever heard of this

You say you can't drive.  Do you mean you're unwilling to drive?  There are different reasons people are unwilling to drive.  Some just don't want to.  My wife had vision problems when very young and just doesn't feel confident that she can see well enough.  If you don't drive because you're afraid to without a real reason for it, that's a phobia and an anxiety problem.  I also don't quite understand why fibro would make you unable to drive -- cars haven't needed much muscle to drive them for a long time now, everything is power this and power that.  As you describe your experience, it sounds like you're having a phobic reaction even as a passenger.  If that's how it is, therapy with someone who specializes in the treatment of phobias might free you from this fear.

In case this isn't clear, I drove a stick shift with manual steering most of my driving life.  That does take some muscle, but I chose to drive that kind of car.  Power steering and automatic transmissions pretty much drive themselves, with just a little help, which is why I'm wondering at why strength would be necessary.
