Anxiety and zoloft

I've been on zoloft for about 2 months now started at 50 felt terrible at first of course then started getting better but still having anxiety. The doctor upped me to 75mg and I all the sudden became extremely wired up for the 2 weeks at 75 he then moved me back down to 50 and I started feeling better again until yesterday the anxiety is back worse. Is it normal to be wired up more than a couple of weeks on a dose change? I was on zoloft for about 6 yrs before and don't remember having this much trouble. Has anyone else had this problem?

I am tapering off the zoloft and on buspar now the side effects on zoloft kicked my butt took it before didn't have any problems but my body wouldn't take it this time I guess. I have met with a therapist on 3 occasions I really didn't get much out of it since I maybe got 3 words in each time and she talked the rest. Gonna do some therapy at this new place and hopefully it will work

Well at 1 st the pcy Dr told me to just stop at 50 mg shouldn't be any problems so I pulled it up on my phone in his office and showed the problems it can cause which kinda scares me he wouldn't already be aware of this. He then said yes let's taper off while taking the buspar. I think his thought is if he can get the anxiety under control the panic and other problems will eventually subside which I am optimistic about but gonna give it a shot.

You said that you were seeing a psychiatrist.  Are you going to regular intervals for counseling while you have been back on the Zoloft?  I have been on and off of it over the years and while it really helps me, I also know that is only half of the battle....going to counseling and discussing the anxiety is the other half in my experience with it.

Your Dr did'nt taper you off the Zoloft? I know you have'nt been on it for very long but I think he should have tapered you because you may be having some withdrawal.
Buspar is a mild anti anxiety med. Some people do very well on it while others feel it's not strong enough. You are having a little dizziness and headaches so it's hard to say if it's the Buspar or withdrawal form the Zoloft. I really hope this med works for you.

Yea seen a pcyc thurs took me off the zoloft because of being wired and having some weight loss issues. He put me on buspar which I really know nothing about just started my first dose this morning he said it shouldn't be to bad to start up on but I felt pretty crappy after awhile this afternoon a lil dizzy and head aches. Gonna give it a shot if it doesn't help not sure what to do next kinda of tired of feelin ok one day than like crap for six. It makes it hard to work everyday feeling bad that's for sure.

I'm glad to hear you're feeling a little better. Hopefully things will calm down very soon and your body will adjust to the 50 mgs again. How long have you been on the anxiety med? Are you still feeling tired at half the dose?
It's really hard to recommend another med because we never know how we'll do on it unless we give it a try. I've been on meds that have worked great for me but have seen other people here say they did awful on it.
From my experience, your Dr may recommend Celexa or Lexapro next, if you do not do well on this dose of Zoloft.

Yeah I am still on 50 now not as wired but still have alot of energy when I first take the zoloft. I am suppose to be taking 3 mg of colonazapam a day with it but it makes me pretty much want to sleep so I cut them in half and it seems to be working. I still get wired in certain situations just not as bad as it was and I can sleep now. I'll give it a couple more weeks and if I haven't mellowed I will wean my self off and try another with the docs consent any way any recommendations on a certain one to try. I have never taken anything but zoloft but don't remember feeling like this before.

Yes, when you do a dose increase you can feel wired or possibly more tired for awhile until your body gets used to the new dose. At 2 weeks your symptoms should have been calming down a little though. It''s hard to say because we're all so different and respond to these meds differently. Have you either thought about trying another med or adding an anxiety med to Zoloft?
