Am i having a panic attack?

I have been to the ER 3 times this week in an ambulance. I was told not to come back or call the ambulance any more. I was admited to hospital the second time with no reoccurance of symptoms and released to end up back there the next day.

I have been experiencing temporary paralysis of varying number of limbs and combinations lasting 15 minutes to an hour. A general ache in my muscles/bones/etc. Twinges in my muscles all over, sometimes even when i am paralysed, and usually a twitch signals being able to move again. I can feel cold/heat/pressure but it feels like it is through a sock of t-shirt.

My parents/best friend/random online doctor think it is a panic attack. Although i am quite calm throughout. And although i have stress in my life, i am not anxious about it. And there is no event to bring it on.

I have had a panic attack back in 2003 it felt like a asthma/heart attack. Not like this at all.

I am generally feeling very exhausted and weak, with my limbs feeling heavy. These symptoms have persisted for a week. I have not heard of a panic attack lasting so long.

Bloods/urine have been clean, MRI is 'clean' is show my benign brain tumor but no change there. No idea what doctors have tested for. I came in presenting with one side of my body paralysed.

Wow.... this sounds awlful, are you on any medications?  This i am not too sure about to whether it is just anxiety as you are saying you feel calm when these attacks are happening... normally within an anxiety attack you feel that sense of overpowering fear and doom like something terrible is going to happen.

Is it anxiety that the doctors have diganosed?

Plus that is a very harsh thing to say to NOT call the ambulance anymore... are you in Amercia?  I mean thats what they are there for and this paralysis sounds quite extreme.

i was kinda very giddy when they talked to me at the hospital. So I may have gotten their words a bit mixed up, but I think the gist was that there was nothing they could do for me in the ER so I should use my own judgement when calling for an ambulance. I am in Australia with private health insurance, but calling an ambulance to take you to the -private- ER has a gap of about $200 that you have to pay. Last time the doctor bulk billed me through medicare. Which was nice, considering they had released from the hospital less than 24 hours previous.

No one has diagnosed me with anything. No one has an idea about what could be causing it at all.

So far I can still move my shoulders and head and face when i get paralysed like this. I try to will my fingers to move, but they just won't.

I have no idea.

Seeing a neurologist today.

Well i hope you get the treatment you need to overcome this, maybe if things don't get any better you should think about med's with therapy, this can only help you.  Heres hoping that you have a speedy recovery.... God bless x

Anxiety can pretty much affect all body parts and all body functions.  lol...it's a real *******!  I've had experiences where I felt my legs were numb/paralyzed for quote a while, numb face, no feeling in fingertips....all anxiety.

Keep looking around until you can get some treatment, whether it's therapy, medication, or both (best option).
