Anxiety

I had my first mamogram when I was 30 yrs old then I didn`t have another until 50 yrs of age when it was discovered that one breast was dencer than the other so follow up mamograms where performed only to find everything is ok, but since then I have learnt alot about the exporure to radiation and how harmful it can be now I am concerned about the unnecessary exposure I have recieved. I was told the amount was very small but I am not convinced, hence my anxiety has worked overtime

The dosage is mild. But if you have regular mammograms (or other x-rays) the exposure is cumulative. As a general rule I avoid unnecessary testing.

The amount of radiation you have received in checking out why your breast was denser than the other will not hurt you at all.  In addition you have to remember, these things need to be checked out and in no way fall under the "unnecessary exposure"  realm.  You should be totally reassured that you have no form of breast cancer and move on.  The radiation is nothing to worry about.
