Things that trigger anxiety

Hi everyone..

I'm riding the anxiety roller coaster again this morning after a really rough day yesterday. All in all I have been doing ok for a few weeks.  I have started a journal to see if I can somehow pin down what starts these crazy symptoms out of the blue. If you have read my posts before you know the symptoms that cause me the most fear/worry. These mild dull achy pain feelings I get in my upper chest and back. They really scare me. Even when I try to tell myself they aren't going to hurt me, I still get worked up over them. I don't get the panic attacks anymore, thank God I have learned how to control most of those, but I still get that racing heart, jumpy, on edge feeling when I start to feel those chest aches.

Last night I had a really bad headache. I was so tired and felt so bad, I just wanted to lay my head down and sleep. Every time I fell asleep, about every 10 minutes I would almost jump awake...kinda like someone just came in my room and yelled BOO !!!! It was awful, it lasted for hours.

Does this happen to anyone else. Also are there certain foods, or medicine that can trigger that. I didn't have any caffeine, and the only meds I took was Ibuprofen and Tylenol.

Any input would help, I SWEAR I WILL KICK THIS !!!! Cause I have really had about enough :(

Thanks everyone

Crystal

Yes, I have had that.  A terrible feeling to be soooo tired and you just jump like a scared rabbit every few minutes.  That is anxiety.  I have to take valium or something when I get like that - it sucks, but I have to take it.  I also let the TV run or music - b/c it calms me and reminds me where I'm at.  Or even try a different place to lay down in the house - like couch vs. bed, or even sitting up in a recliner - it changes up the scenery.  Hang in there - it will eventually go away like the roller coaster ride you mentioned.

yes and I have heard drinking makes anxiety worse for other people too....trust me I'm not about to do anything that may make this worse. Its bad enough as it is :(

My friends that dont have anxiety always say to me....you just need a drink.....of course they have no idea what I go through, cause they dont have anxiety lol

:( not sugar ...sigh I have given up everything else might a well get rid of that too I guess.

And I don't drink, at all. Never really had an interest in alcohol so it was never a problem for me....however I have often wondered if having a drink just might be what I need on some nights lol

Hello My Friend,
I just found this site yesterday, and I love it.  I know I'm not crazy or the only one in the world that feels this way.  I really thought something medically was wrong with me, but found out I was't suffering from some disease. I use to drink to ease the anxiety, and it was a temporary fix.  As I drank more the anxiety and panic attacks, and the fear of going outside my home became much worse.  I hope this information can help you, and it may not be relevant in your case, but I noticed alot of people don't mention the alcohol when they comment.  I've tried everything from relaxation tecniques, yoga, stretching, walking, I wanted to try and conquer this on my own without medication.  Unfortunately, medication is the only way to help.  My Dr. has me on a low dose of Adivan 1mg, and at first I had to only take half because a whole one made me feel funny.  My body has learned how to tolerate the 1 mg without the funny feeling, and it works.  I wish you good luck, and will say a prayer tonight for all of us who suffer from this!
Jenny ;)
