Anxiety?

About two months ago I was faced with horrible news. My life had been on a steady downfall for a while and my father presented with me that I was being kicked out of his house on the basis that he could no longer afford me.
I tried to be openminded about it. I mean, I'm 19 and my father has raised my brother and I by himself on a low income job. So things have been pretty rough for him too.
Having lost my job I was unable to finish paying off my home high school and saw the military as my only way out. Since then other options have opened up but with these only more worries have arisen.
(okay lol sorry for the life story)
Since I started getting into the military until now my sleep has become severly disrupted. It started with me just waking up several times a night (random vivid dreams too, doubt its related). Now I can't even seem to breathe correctly when I lay down. I shiver sometimes trying to get comfortable. I expierience random chest pains. My heartbeat feels awkward at times and I'm constantly aware of it when trying to sleep. And if I do manage to fall asleep it's not until around 4-5 am. I know this is anxiety but I'm wanting outside opinions on whether or not it is since I'm not halfway qualified to decide (and really can't afford a doctor v_v). Also looking for any advice on what I could do to lessen the symptoms. I know the best solution would be to get my life on track but with all this it's hard to concentrate on goals.
Thanks for the consideration and the time. I really appreciate it.

I suppose you asked them who DOES do the mental health and in any case I would keep looking. Can you say where you are located (city/state/country)?

If you go back to the Website home page, you'll see a tab for doctors, among which are some "mental" types. I don't know that any will be able to do a diagnosis and treatment right here, but some may have a lead for you to follow and an opinion about steps you can take right now. Meanwhile, keep looking at material on the forum. Also, if you can secure lodging (maybe with a friend) and a paying (or higher paying) job this may relieve financial pressure and keep you focused.

Stay in touch and repost your question as often as necessary to shake a few more leaves from the trees. Also please consider becoming a member, so you can send/receive private messages. If I have any flash of insight, I'll let you know and I promise to be mulling this over.

Thankyou for your help, and promptness.
I've looked at some of the free clinics in the area but they say they don't do mental treatment. Apparently they're mostly good for recovery and immediate issues for people with no insurance (which I lack).
My condition isn't dire enough for the ER.
Is there any steps I can take myself towards recovery from this nightmare?

If you feel anxiety -then it IS anxiety, no second opinions required!

It seems that the sudden change of circumstances might be good trigger for it, plus the uncertainty of what will happen in the military, so you have some events you could point to as "reasons." But, as you've probably guessed, why do you react to them as you do? Why not anger with Dad, or excitement about a possible military career? Hard to say.

My opinion is that you should get a medical consult. You might be given some meds to help you chill a bit, but follow up with a few counseling sessions as well, so you have some strategies for "dealing with yourself." Can't afford? Go to your friendly local health department.

And please stay in touch here. I'm glad you've established contact.
