Gotta agree with Greenie here -- if a couple of aspirin takes care of it, it ain't a migraine. But if you're getting them frequently, you don't want to be taking aspirin regularly, so it's not a bad idea to try and get to the bottom of why you're getting frequent headaches. A migraine is a specific kind of headache -- it's vascular in nature and has many symptoms, not just a headache, and again, as Greenie says, they're a very big deal.
I find it rather amazing that you can take a couple of aspirin and be fine. Have you actually been diagnosed with migraine? Is it your Neurologist who is suggesting you have the MRI? Have you even seen a Neuro about these headaches?
MRIs are usually not done for migraines unless there is a sudden change in their frequency, duration, intensity or if they begin suddenly, especially if you're older. It is quite easy for a Neurologist to diagnose migraines from your description of the headaches you get. Since you seem to have some anxiety about this, I would urge you to consult with a Neurologist and let him/her be the judge as to whether or not an MRI is needed.
To Rs33...........Consider yourself extremely lucky that you've obviously never had a true migraine. If you had, you would NEVER say "they are usually not a big deal........."

you sound fine to me ,you really do sound like it is just a headache,as rs33 says if it makes you feel better having one then go for it,but i dont think it is necessary
Hi there if they go away with some asprin or drinking water...I think you are fine. They are usuallynot a big deal unless you wake up with headaches you have trouble concentrating or your throwing up that is when you would need to see a doc and consider getting an MRI done. But if you just wont one b/c you get ocassional headaches I don't think its nessecary....But if you not gunna relax until you get on then I would go ahead and do it for peace of mind. :) But in all honesty I think your fine :) I hope I helped :).
