I just read this post of yours on a different thread:
Well I was prescribed Ativan and have Valium left over from a previous prescription an am running low on the ativan. Can I just take them together or will it be bad or just not work altogether?? .
This is a BAD idea. It's never a good idea to take these kinds of things into your own hands. You need to talk to your doctor. The best thing to do would be to just get a refill of the Ativan, and do not mess with the Valium.
It's not as simple as just replacing one for another. Please discuss this with your doctor.
Definitely something to ask your doctor about. As cj said, they are both benzodiazepines, so there are some things you have to be cautious about if indeed your doctor wants you on both.
Did your doctor prescribe this? I would ask your prescribing doctor and/or pharmacist that fills your prescription about this. They are both benzos and in my opinion, one has to be careful with them and take them as prescribed. Keep an open line of communication open with your doctor about it and make sure he/she knows all the medications you are on.
that's a good question to ask your doctor they both are meant to relax you but be sure and ask a professional ok :)
