major setback in my progress

I've been doing very well with controlling my anxiety and now even the random panic attacks but last week on thursday I started noticing very bad earpain so I went to urgent care. Turns out I have fluid trapped in my middle ear due to sinus congestion. Its been causing me major pressure headaches, lightheaded feelings, and earaches. This made my anxiety start up again. I feel like my head is just a big ball of pressure and the lightheadedness keeps making me uneasy. I understand that fluid in the ear is pretty common with allergies and colds but the symptoms are making me anxious. I've been doing well with controlling my anxiousness but it could take weeks for the fluid to drain and I'm scared ill be anxious the whole time. I have a big day on oct 13th. I'm going to see my favorite hockey team play and I'm afraid these symptoms and anxiety will ruin it :(

Decongestants can help it to drain.  You know what is causing the discomfort so try and steer your thoughts away from your ear.

Erin,  I certainly hope this fluid trapped in your middle ear does not continue to make you so anxious that you don't have a great time watching your favorite hockey team play.  Did doctor suggest a prescription or something OTC to rid you of this pain etc.?  Please know what you are experiencing is very common!  I know it may not help to know that.  Wishing you the very best!!
