CAN CIPRALEX 10 MG BE TAKEN FOR LIFETIME
Dear All,
I have been on cipralex 10 mg for about 3 years for GAD, for the last few months i have lowered my does to 5 mg... although nowadays i feel a bit of anxiety and depression but it is controllable, however my biggest concern is that can we take cipralex for lifetime without losing its results.....

Hi I cant answer your question on cipralex as I have never taken it, my nephew as been on it for over 5years and he drops is doseage and goes down again, if you feel well on 10mgs why worry, just get yourself well on 10mgs stay that way for awhile then talk to your doctor about withdrawel, but be well and happy on 10mgs if 5mgs is bringing back the anxiety, I have been stuck on benzoes for over 30years yet one day I do hope to be benzoe free.

Thanks for your interest in my concern.... i am still taking 5 mg and starting to feel back to normal a bit.... i just dont wanna increase my doses everytime i feel anxiety..... i wanna fight it and try my best to remain on 5 mg as long as i can.... nowadays i have been having some anxiety cuz my mother want me to travel with her to my brother in usa but i do not want to take around 24 hrs flight.....i am feeling that might get an anxiety that i might not be able to control in the plane.... just curious is there any medicine that can be taken in severe anxiety cases to control the anxiety immediately and cme back to normal...once agian thanks for your interest waiting for your reply.

The only meds I know that work quick are benzoes, valium, ativan, but these meds are well left alone, as I have been on them years, you sound as if your getting there, hang in there things will come good, but if you want to go with your mum to see your brother your doctor my priscribe a small amount of valium to calm you for the flight. please dont let anxiety stop you, I know it can as it has me for the last 9 years but it makes me sad to think your missing out on things,
