That hospital connection is a very good sign. Please let us know how it went for you.
Yeah, I noticed there were so many out there but I think I found a good one or at least he is tied into a reputable hospital so I'm thinking he's certified by them. Unfortunatly, I'd say I'm more of an introverts than an extraverts (I had to look up what those words meant) :) but I'm hoping for the best and like you said if probably the worst that can happen is nothing, I figure it's worth a try. He tapes the session and gives it too you after he said. I talked to him today and I'm kinda excited about it. but It won't be for at least another week.
Thanks for all the info. It was really helpful.
Hypnotism is sometimes very helpful because it enables you -the subject- to focus very clearly on target behaviors which will support reaching some goal or objective. Many psychiatrists employ hypnosis as part of therapy, in fact. It is also true that not everyone responds to hypnotism the same way. In general, extroverts make better subjects than introverts because they -as a group- are more eager to please than an introvert. There are some tests that will indicate how easily you may be put into a "trance," and, if you're not really a good candidate, the hypnotherapist should tell you.
And that brings us to the unpleasant reality that hypnotism and hypno-therapy is, in many places, one of the few professions whose members can practice without a license or certification of any kind. You will see some who say they are "certified."
But certified by whom? The internet is chock-full of hypnosis organizations, so it is difficult to sort out what's going on.
That said, because hypnosis can be beneficial, the worst that can happen -probably- is nothing.
