Just started taking Klonopin and Lexapro

I actually seeked help with a therapist today. Love the guy. I think I'm going to start seeing him VS my primary Dr., even though I LOVE my primary Dr., but he just prescribes antidepressants to me and ativan. He doesnt help me really menatlly with my anxiety, he just helps the symptoms. Well, my Dr. is out of the country for 2 months, so today I was doing REALLY bad... so I made an appt. and luckily got in to see a therapist that I saw about a year ago or so, but only saw him a couple times til I got over my anxious spell. Mistake! lol. I'm learning I'm creating a behavioral pattern with my health anxiety etc.

I saw him today, explained to him what's been bothering me, with my anxiety and some obsession about swallowing (a clicking noise I keep hearing, in my adams apple area, I know it's nothing serious, I know it's probably always been there, but with health anxiety we pay MORE attention to our bodies... and this thing has been driving me NUTS. I woke up lastnight at 5am, took a sip of water, heard/felt the cartlidge rub click dealyo... and just went into panic mode b/c it seems like thats ALL I CAN THINK ABOUT. It drives me insane... I had a full blown anxiety/panic episode... couldnt go back to bed, took 2 ativan to help calm me down, but they did nothing, I just layed in bed for 3 hours til it was time to go to work.)

Anyways, when I was talking to him about it, I started to cry b/c I felt so TIRED of this... and just want it to STOP.
He told me to continue taking the Lexapro, since I've only been on it for 2 days... and he prescribed me Klonopin. This is the first time Ive ever taken anything like it.

I must say, when I took it my anxiety was bad... but about 30 min later, I felt like a drunk. lol. But the intensity wore off, and I just felt mellow...

I still don't have an appetite b/c my anxiety has killed my appetite for about 2 weeks now.. but I still make myself eat... but tonight I made myself eat without being hungry at all, but actually ate A BUNCH! without having to gag it down! lol.

I'm home now, and I'm just chillin and playin Barbies with my daughter. lol. The joys of being a dad. lol. I love it though, that's what I want back, I want to be relaxed and be able to focus and play with my kiddos and enjoy my wifes company etc.

The therapist told me to take these 1mg klonopins 3 times a day if I feel like I need it. But let me tell ya, I'll be taking half of one tomorrow at work. lol. These things make me look stoned! ha.

My question is, do you think my obsession with my throat sensations will ease and dissipate after therapy and some medications?

Also my mouth has been SUPER dry the past couple of weeks or more, is this allergies or anxiety related? Thanks for listening!

I'm feeling hopeful again. =)

I think things are looking up from you here cnote.   The dry mouth can be due to the medications and excessive anxiety.  Keep up with the therapist/pdoc and stay with the meds until you are satisfied with how you feel and are happy for at least 6 months or a years.
Most your health concerns should start subsiding as the meds start to help.  But as mammo says keep up with the CBT to 'unlearn' those behavious that you picked up worrying about your health excessively.
Keep hugging your wife and kids let them and your work keep your mind occupied.  take care.

I think things will improve immensely with the medications but you still need therapy to deal with obcessive worrying about your health.  You're controlling the symptoms and not addressing the problem.
